The Dominicus system is the entire known universe for the Nine Houses. Each planet houses a different House with its own necromantic specialty: the Second is military, the Third is royalty, the Fourth is young and eager, the Fifth is healing, the Sixth is scholarly, the Seventh is aesthetics, the Eighth is religious, and the Ninth is... the Ninth. The First House (Canaan House) orbits closest to the sun. Beyond the system, the Cohort wages wars of expansion, the Blood of Eden fights for freedom, and Resurrection Beasts — the ghosts of the planets John destroyed to fuel the system's creation — circle like sharks waiting for the barrier to drop.
