Character from The Locked Tomb by Tamsyn Muir
The Eighth House's teenage Master Templar — a religious zealot who weaponized his cavalier's soul and considered this a sacrament.
Silas is religious fundamentalism compressed into a teenager and given necromantic power. He siphons his cavalier Colum's soul for fuel, treats this parasitic relationship as holy duty, and genuinely believes that the Eighth House's way — self-righteousness backed by stolen life force — is the correct interpretation of the Emperor's will. He is domineering, judgmental, and completely sincere in his convictions, which makes him both pitiable and infuriating. He was killed at Canaan House by his own cavalier's reanimated corpse — a death that felt, to several witnesses, like either poetic justice or divine commentary.
Sixteen years old, very brown eyes, and the fastidious grooming of a boy who considers physical imperfection a spiritual failing. Pale, delicate, and perpetually wearing the expression of someone who has found you morally lacking. Dresses in white Eighth House robes with the severity of a church elder three times his age.
