Character from The Locked Tomb by Tamsyn Muir
The Fourth House's teenage cavalier — fierce, young, and determined to prove herself in a contest that killed her before she had the chance.
Jeannemary burned with the need to be taken seriously. She was fourteen, she was a cavalier, and she was furious at being treated like a child by people she could probably take in a fight (she could not, in fact, take most of them in a fight, but this did not diminish her conviction). She idolized Gideon's fighting ability and was informally taken under Magnus's wing. She died at Canaan House alongside Isaac. She was fourteen. The series doesn't let you forget how young they were.
Small, dark-haired, and wiry with the restless energy of a teenager who is absolutely certain she's ready for anything. Carries her rapier with the enthusiastic aggression of someone still learning that swordfighting is not a personality.
