Location from The Legend of Zelda by Nintendo
Ancient Zonai ruins floating above Hyrule — the remnants of a civilization that descended from the heavens and left their technology suspended between earth and sky.
The Sky Islands are TotK's vertical expansion of Hyrule — floating above the kingdom in scattered archipelagos. The Great Sky Island serves as the tutorial area where Link awakens and receives Rauru's arm powers. Other islands contain shrines, Zonai devices, and fragments of the ancient civilization that Rauru and Mineru built. The islands rose when Ganondorf was sealed — the Zonai civilization's technology lifting them skyward as a safeguard. They are beautiful, lonely, and filled with puzzles that reward creative use of TotK's Ultrahand and Fuse abilities.
Floating stone islands with Zonai architecture — dragon-head motifs, inverted pillars, green glowing lamps shaped like lotus flowers. Stone bridges connect some islands. Snow forms only at the highest altitudes. Constructs (Zonai automata) patrol the ruins.
