Lost Woods

Location from The Legend of Zelda by Nintendo

An enchanted forest that erases intruders — follow the embers or be returned to the entrance, because children who get lost here become Skull Kids and adults become Stalfos.

The Lost Woods are Hyrule's most persistent environmental puzzle. Navigate correctly and you reach Korok Forest, the Great Deku Tree, and the Master Sword. Navigate wrong and you're teleported back to the entrance, disoriented and annoyed. In OoT lore, those who become truly lost are transformed — children into Skull Kids, adults into Stalfos. The woods connect to some of the franchise's most emotionally significant locations: Saria's Sacred Forest Meadow, the Sacred Grove where the Master Sword rests in TP, and Korok Forest in BotW where the Great Deku Tree watches over the blade.

Appearance

Dense, fog-shrouded forest where visibility drops to meters. In BotW, glowing embers/particles drift in the correct direction — the only guide through the maze. The trees are ancient, gnarled, and seem to shift when you're not looking. Korok Forest sits at the heart, bathed in unexpected warmth and light.
