The elephant-shaped Divine Beast piloted by Mipha — a Sheikah war machine that creates endless rain threatening to flood Zora's Domain when corrupted by Waterblight Ganon.

Vah Ruta is the water-themed Divine Beast, originally piloted by the Zora Champion Mipha. During the Great Calamity, Waterblight Ganon killed Mipha and corrupted Vah Ruta, causing it to create an endless rainstorm threatening to flood Zora's Domain and downstream areas. Link, with Sidon's help, approaches Vah Ruta during the rainstorm, boards it, solves its water-manipulation puzzle dungeon, and defeats Waterblight Ganon to free Mipha's spirit. Liberated, Vah Ruta fires a laser at Hyrule Castle during the final battle, dealing significant damage to Calamity Ganon.

Appearance

A massive mechanical elephant — ancient Sheikah technology of staggering scale. Trunk raises to spray water (or fire a laser). Blue Sheikah eye glows when liberated. Perched near Zora's Domain, creating perpetual rain while corrupted.
