Item from The Legend of Zelda by Nintendo
The Blade of Evil's Bane — a sword forged by a goddess, inhabited by a spirit, and tempered in sacred flame to be the one weapon that can seal the darkness across every age.
The Master Sword began as the Goddess Sword in Skyward Sword — forged by Hylia, inhabited by the spirit Fi, and tempered through three Sacred Flames into the Master Sword by Link. It is the only weapon capable of permanently defeating Ganondorf/Demise, and it recognizes Link's spirit across incarnations. In BotW, it rests in Korok Forest and requires 13 heart containers to pull. It 'breaks' but recharges after 10 minutes rather than being destroyed. In TotK, Zelda preserved it across millennia by becoming the Light Dragon — carrying the sword in her mouth as a dragon for thousands of years so Link could claim it when the time came.
A distinctive blue-hilted longsword with a cross-shaped guard and a purple gemstone in the pommel. The blade glows when in the presence of evil. In BotW, it deals 30 base damage (60 against Guardians and Ganon). The design is iconic — arguably the most recognizable weapon in gaming.
