Character from The Legend of Zelda by Nintendo
A power-hungry Minish sorcerer who wished himself into a Hylian, forgot where he came from, and became a recurring wind demon sealed in the Four Sword across three games.
Vaati was a Minish — one of the tiny creatures invisible to most adults — and the apprentice of the sage Ezlo. He stole the Mage's Cap (a wish-granting artifact), used it to become a Hylian sorcerer, turned Ezlo into a hat as punishment, and sought the Light Force within Princess Zelda. After his initial defeat, he lost all memory of being a Minish and became a pure wind-demon that kidnaps maidens and gets sealed in the Four Sword repeatedly. He is the primary villain of the 'Four Swords' sub-series — a different flavor of evil from Ganondorf. Where Ganondorf is patient and strategic, Vaati is vain and impulsive, obsessed with beauty and power in a way that makes him more petty than cosmic.
Hylian form: pale, purple-haired sorcerer with an arrogant bearing. Monster forms escalate: Vaati Reborn (winged eye), Vaati Transfigured (massive eye-bat creature), Vaati's Wrath (mechanical demon). Each form is more alien than the last.
Also known as: The Wind Mage, Vaati
