Prince Sidon

Character from The Legend of Zelda by Nintendo

The Zora prince with a smile that could inspire nations — a hammerhead shark in humanoid form who turned his grief for Mipha into relentless optimism for everyone around him.

Sidon's default state is encouragement. He gives thumbs-up to strangers, delivers inspiring speeches to the terrified, and maintains the kind of relentless positivity that would be exhausting from anyone less genuine. Nintendo identified him as the most popular character among BotW fans, and the reason is obvious: he believes in you so completely that you start believing in yourself. Beneath the enthusiasm, he carries the weight of Mipha's death. He was her little brother, and she died protecting a kingdom that sometimes blames the Zora for not doing enough. He channels that grief into duty — becoming King of the Zora in TotK, facing the sludge crisis, and awakening as the Sage of Water to create protective barriers for Link. His theme uses 'si' and 'do' musical notes — a reference to his name.

Appearance

Crimson red coloring based on a hammerhead shark design, notably taller and stronger than the average Zora. Silver jewelry with the Zora emblem on his rear fins. As Sage of Water, wears a Zonai Secret Stone gauntlet on his left hand.

Also known as: King Sidon, Prince Sidon, Sage of Water
