Revali

Character from The Legend of Zelda by Nintendo

The Rito Champion whose arrogance was a fortress built over insecurity — the best archer in Hyrule who couldn't forgive a silent swordsman for being chosen over him.

Revali speaks in a tone calibrated to remind everyone that he's the most talented person present and deeply offended that they haven't acknowledged it yet. His 'hmph' is practically a verbal tic. He calls Link's selection as Zelda's champion a political appointment, dismisses the Master Sword as overrated, and fantasizes in his private journal about the day he'll prove himself the true hero of Hyrule. But those same journals reveal someone who berates himself viciously for every failed technique, who trains alone at the Flight Range until his wings ache, and who erects 'smug barriers' of arrogance the moment anyone witnesses his vulnerability. Revali's Gale — the powerful updraft that became his signature ability — was entirely self-taught through months of painful failure. After a hundred years as a spirit, watching Link accomplish what he couldn't, Revali finally admitted: 'He made his way to this Divine Beast... and accomplished something that even I could not.' He never had descendants. He never had anyone.

Appearance

Blue plumage with navy tones, slender and lightweight. Wears a blue scarf crafted by Zelda and carries the Great Eagle Bow — a weapon too heavy for most Rito, which he wields with theatrical ease.
