Character from The Legend of Zelda by Nintendo
The physical manifestation of Ganon's corruption — Malice is the black-magenta tar of BotW, Gloom is the red-black darkness of TotK, and both reduce everything they touch to ruin.
Malice and Gloom are Ganondorf's hatred given physical form — the corrosive substances that spread corruption across Hyrule in their respective games. Malice coats Hyrule Castle and spawns Cursed enemies in BotW. Gloom seeps from the Depths in TotK and permanently reduces Link's maximum hearts until cleansed. They are less characters than environmental expressions of evil — the visual and mechanical language through which the games communicate that Ganondorf's influence is a disease, not just a military threat.
Malice (BotW): Black and magenta tar-like substance with eyeball nodes, coating surfaces with pulsing corruption. Gloom (TotK): Red and black darkness that pools beneath Hyrule from the Depths, reducing maximum hearts on contact. Both are visceral, unsettling environmental hazards.
