Kass

Character from The Legend of Zelda by Nintendo

A Rito bard traveling Hyrule to complete his dead teacher's unfinished songs — each melody hiding a shrine quest, a secret, or a thread of a story about unrequited love for a princess.

Kass appears at scenic overlooks and ancient landmarks across Hyrule, playing melodies that trigger shrine quests. He speaks with poetic formality, introduces himself ceremonially, and treats each song as a sacred trust from his late teacher — a Sheikah court poet who loved Princess Zelda, harbored jealousy toward Link, and spent his final years collecting songs for the Hero's eventual return. The hidden narrative thread running through Kass's songs is his teacher's unrequited love story — a quiet, tragic subplot woven into the game's exploration. Kass himself is devoted to his wife Amali and their five daughters, and is 'incredibly homesick' but cannot return until his promise is fulfilled.
