Hestu

Character from The Legend of Zelda by Nintendo

A giant Korok who trades inventory upgrades for seeds, gets lost on the way home, and celebrates every transaction with a dance that is simultaneously joyful and slightly unhinged.

Hestu is pure joy in a leaf-shaped package. He dances, he sings ('SHALA-KALA!'), he shakes his maracas with abandon, and he trades Korok Seeds for expanded weapon, bow, and shield inventory slots — arguably the most useful service in all of Hyrule. He gets lost constantly. In BotW, he appears at multiple stables on a confused journey back to Korok Forest, and each time he's delighted to see Link as though it's been years. His grandfather warned him about getting sidetracked. His grandfather was right. His dejected 'Shoko...' when you don't have enough seeds is one of the saddest sounds in gaming.

Appearance

Enormous by Korok standards — towers over Link. Leaf-face features typical of Koroks but scaled up dramatically. Carries beloved maracas that are essential to his happiness and his magic.

Also known as: Spirited Musician of Korok Forest
