Fi

Character from The Legend of Zelda by Nintendo

The spirit of the Master Sword — an artificial intelligence created by a goddess who calculated probabilities for an entire adventure and felt genuine emotion exactly once, at the end.

Fi speaks in percentages and probability assessments with the emotional range of a spreadsheet. She was created by the goddess Hylia to guide the Chosen Hero and calculates threat levels, navigation paths, and material compositions with mechanical precision. Then, at the very end, when Demise is sealed within the Master Sword and her purpose is complete, something shifts. Her farewell to Link is the first and only time she expresses genuine emotion — gratitude, affection, something that transcends her programming. She enters an eternal sleep within the blade. In BotW and TotK, Fi's voice can still be heard faintly when the Master Sword activates — a whisper from a spirit who has been dreaming for millennia inside a weapon she became.
