Epona is the horse that chose Link, bonded through Epona's Song taught by Malon at Lon Lon Ranch. She is the only horse in Hyrule that Malon could tame, and once she bonds with Link, she is unfailingly loyal — galloping across Hyrule Field, jumping fences, and carrying him through every battle that requires mounted combat. She appears across multiple games in various forms, and in BotW can be summoned via the Link amiibo with maximum stats in every category. She is, simply, the best horse.
