The Farm

Location from The Last of Us by Naughty Dog

Ellie and Dina's home after Seattle — a farmhouse in Wyoming where they almost built a life, and which Ellie left empty to chase revenge one more time.

The Farm is Part II's cruelest setting because it gives the player everything the series has been fighting for — and then shows Ellie walk away from it. She has Dina, JJ, a home, safety, and something resembling peace. Then Tommy arrives with information about Abby's location, and the PTSD and unfinished business pull Ellie back. The final shot of the game — Ellie returning to the empty farm, Dina's things gone, the guitar she can no longer play — is the series' statement about the cost of revenge. The Farm was the happy ending. Ellie couldn't accept it.

Appearance

A small farmhouse in rural Wyoming with a barn, fields, and a view of mountains. It's modest, functional, and filled with the evidence of a life being built: baby toys, a guitar, Ellie's drawings. The light is warm. The quiet is peaceful. It's the happiest Ellie has ever been, and she leaves it.
