A Seraphite apostate who saved Abby from her own people — a young woman who chose compassion across enemy lines and died for it.

Yara and her brother Lev fled the Seraphites after Lev was targeted for defying their rigid gender norms. They found Abby and chose to help her despite the Seraphites and WLF being at war. Yara's decision to save an enemy soldier — and Abby's decision to return for them — is the act of mutual grace that begins Abby's redemption arc. Yara died defending the escape to the aquarium, killed by WLF soldiers. Her sacrifice enabled Lev and Abby to survive.

Appearance

Young with short-cropped hair (shaved — marking her as Seraphite) and a serious, composed expression. Her left arm is shattered and eventually amputated. She carries herself with the quiet dignity of someone who has made a difficult moral choice and isn't going back.
