• Auri lives here alone, having named and mapped sections no one else has visited
• Contains rooms Auri has named: Cricklet, Billows, Mantle, Wains, The Twelve, and many more
• Kvothe accesses the Underthing through a grate to visit Auri, bringing her food and small gifts
• Some sections contain functioning ancient mechanisms whose original purpose is unknown
• The Underthing may connect to tunnels or structures that predate human settlement
