Trebon

Location from The Kingkiller Chronicle by Patrick Rothfuss

A small mining and farming town in the Commonwealth where Kvothe investigated a wedding massacre — the Chandrian's handiwork — and encountered a drug-maddened draccus.

Trebon is the kind of place that would have passed through history unremarked if not for two nights of horror. The Mauthen family unearthed an old piece of pottery — a vase painted with images of the Chandrian — and displayed it at a wedding celebration. By morning, everyone at the farm was dead, the bodies twisted and wrong in ways that defied explanation. Kvothe followed Denna here, both of them chasing different threads of the same mystery. What they found was ash and silence and the stink of something ancient. Then the draccus came — a massive, iron-scaled lizard drugged on denner resin, crashing through the town like a living catastrophe. Kvothe brought the church down on it. The town survived. The questions didn't go away.

Appearance

A modest hilltop town of stone and timber, surrounded by farmland and the dark edge of the Eld forest. The Mauthen farm lies on the outskirts, and a great stone church dominates the town center — ancient, heavy, and built to last.

Also known as: Trebon, the town of Trebon
