Character from The Kingkiller Chronicle by Patrick Rothfuss
A kind man who cares for orphans in the worst part of Tarbean — gentle, exhausted, and quietly heroic in a way that no legend will ever record.
Trapis runs a makeshift orphanage in Tarbean's worst quarter, caring for abandoned children with whatever resources he can beg, borrow, or scrounge. He tells them stories — including the story of Tehlu and Encanis that may contain hidden truths about the Chandrian and the ancient war. He is patient, gentle, and utterly without pretension. He helped Kvothe during the darkest period of his childhood, offering warmth and kindness when the world offered neither. He asks nothing in return because he has organized his life around the principle that children should not suffer alone.
Worn and thin, with the hollow look of a man who gives away more than he keeps. His clothes are patched, his hands rough from work, and his face carries the deep lines of someone who has seen too much suffering and chosen to stay rather than look away.
