Count Threpe

Character from The Kingkiller Chronicle by Patrick Rothfuss

A music-loving nobleman who became Kvothe's patron and advocate — generous, well-connected, and one of the few people who helped Kvothe without wanting something in return.

Count Threpe is that rarest of Imre's aristocracy: a patron who loves music for its own sake. He heard Kvothe play at the Eolian and recognized genuine brilliance, and he offered his support with an enthusiasm that was as sincere as it was valuable. He arranged Kvothe's introduction to the Maer Alveron, opening the door to Vintish patronage. He speaks with the voluble warmth of a man who cannot contain his excitement about beautiful things, and his connections in the Commonwealth's social world are extensive and freely offered to those he believes in.

An older gentleman with the soft features and bright eyes of a man who has spent more time in concert halls than on battlefields. He dresses well, smiles easily, and carries himself with the comfortable warmth of someone who genuinely likes people.
