Thresh

Character from The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

District 11's male tribute — massive, powerful, and solitary — who spared Katniss at the feast because she honored Rue, then disappeared into the grain fields alone.

Thresh survives the arena by claiming the tall grain field as his territory and staying alone. He's quiet, self-contained, and operates on a personal code of honor. At the feast, he kills Clove after she boasts about Rue's death, then spares Katniss — 'just this once, for Rue.' He owes no one anything after that. He dies off-screen, probably to mutts, because the narrative isn't about him. It should be.

Appearance

Huge and muscular with dark skin and close-cropped hair. He's one of the largest tributes in the 74th Games, physically imposing enough to rival the Careers. His face is hard and closed — he doesn't perform for the cameras or seek alliances.
