Sejanus Plinth

Character from The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

A Capitol-raised boy from a District 2 family — emotional, principled, and doomed — whose friendship with young Coriolanus Snow ended with a hangman's rope and Snow's silence.

Sejanus Plinth's family bought their way into the Capitol with munitions money, but he never stopped identifying with the districts. He stood in the arena during the 10th Games as a protest. He tried to help tributes escape. He planned to defect to the rebels in District 2. He trusted Coriolanus Snow with his plans. Snow recorded his confession and gave it to Dr. Gaul. Sejanus was hanged for treason. Snow watched. The moment defines Snow — not as a villain, but as a person who chose power over friendship and never looked back. Sejanus died believing in a better world. Snow used his death to get into officer school.

Appearance

Dark hair, dark eyes, olive complexion that marks his District 2 origins despite his Capitol upbringing. He's well-built and handsome in a serious way. His face shows every emotion he feels — he's incapable of hiding distress, which makes him a terrible conspirator.
