Yornhaldt is the faculty member who most resembles a traditional professor — organized, methodical, and genuinely invested in his students' education. He teaches arcane theory with a dwarf's appreciation for precision and structure, breaking complex magical principles into learnable steps. He's patient with honest confusion and merciless with laziness. He has a dry wit that students miss until they've been in his class long enough to recognize it. He's one of the few people at the University who can disagree with Tellwyrn without getting incinerated, partly because she respects his expertise and partly because he frames his disagreements as academic observations.
Stocky dwarf with a meticulously groomed grey beard, wire-rimmed spectacles, and the build of someone who spends more time in libraries than mines. Wears proper academic robes — one of the few faculty who does — and carries himself with professional dignity. His hands are ink-stained.
