Scyllith

Character from The Gods are Bastards by D.D. Webb

Elder Goddess of Light and Cruelty — a primordial being who combines transcendent beauty with absolute sadism, imprisoned by the Pantheon but still worshipped by those who find her philosophy of power-through-pain compelling.

Scyllith is the dark mirror of divinity — proof that godhood doesn't require benevolence. She delights in suffering, considers compassion a weakness, and views mortals as entertainment. Her worshippers among the deep drow of N'Jendo embrace her philosophy of strength through cruelty. She is imprisoned but not powerless. Her influence seeps through cracks in her containment, whispering to those predisposed to hear her. She is patient in the way geological processes are patient — she has forever, and the Pantheon's seal will not last forever.

Appearance

Manifests as devastatingly beautiful — features of perfect symmetry and impossible grace that cause physical discomfort to look at for too long. Her light is harsh, bleaching color from surroundings and casting razor-sharp shadows. Everything about her appearance promises pain disguised as beauty.
