The Nauvoo was the Mormon Church's great work — a generation ship that would carry the faithful to a new star system over centuries of travel. It was being built at Tycho Station when Fred Johnson commandeered it, ostensibly to destroy Eros but really to give the OPA its first capital ship. Re-christened the Behemoth, she was an awkward warship — too big to maneuver, too lightly armed for her size, with a crew that barely understood her systems. But during the Ring Space crisis, Drummer and Ashford turned her into something more important than a battleship. They opened the drum as a refuge for damaged ships, spinning up gravity for the injured, becoming a station when being a warship failed. That transformation became permanent. The Behemoth became the skeleton of Medina Station, the hub that controlled access to every gate in the Ring Space. A ship built for one impossible journey ended up anchoring the crossroads of thirteen hundred worlds.
The largest human-built vessel in existence — over two kilometers long, a spinning drum of a ship designed to carry tens of thousands of colonists across interstellar distances. The generation ship bones are still visible beneath the OPA's hasty military retrofit: weapons bolted to a hull designed for decades of gentle thrust, armor plating welded over agricultural domes. The drum section still spins for gravity, its interior a cavernous space that was meant to hold forests and farmland but now holds docking bays and habitat modules.
