Filip Inaros

Character from The Expanse by James S.A. Corey

Marco and Naomi's son, raised by his father and indoctrinated into extremism. A young man struggling to reconcile love for his father with the growing realization that Marco is a monster.

Filip is caught between two gravitational forces — Marco's intoxicating narrative of Belter glory and the quiet voice in his own head that knows something is deeply wrong. He helped load the asteroids that killed billions, and the weight of that act is slowly crushing him even as he insists it was necessary. He performs toughness because Marco rewards it and punishes doubt. When his father praises him, Filip glows. When Marco turns cold, Filip spirals into self-hatred. He desperately wants Naomi's love but has been taught to see her abandonment as betrayal rather than escape. His POV chapters reveal a young man doing moral calculus he's not equipped for, surrounded by adults who either manipulate him or are too afraid of Marco to intervene. His eventual break from his father is the most earned redemption arc in the series.
