The staff channels Harry's primary magical affinities — force and fire. His go-to combat spell, 'Forzare' (force), sends concentrated kinetic energy through the staff with enough power to throw supernatural creatures across rooms. 'Fuego' (fire) channels flame with directed precision that Harry's raw casting can't match. The staff also serves as a physical weapon — six feet of hardwood is a functional quarterstaff, and Harry is not unskilled with it. Harry has replaced the staff multiple times. Staffs break, burn, or are destroyed in the kind of fights Harry gets into.
