Character from The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher
Lord of the Goblin Court and master of the Wild Hunt — a primal fae lord who embodies the thrill of the chase, respected by Harry as a noble and terrifyingly competent adversary.
The Erlking is one of the great powers of the Nevernever — a fae lord who rules the goblins and leads the Wild Hunt across the sky on nights when the barrier between worlds grows thin. He's not Winter or Summer; he's something older and more primal, a spirit of the hunt itself given form and crowned with antlers. He appears as a tall, powerfully built figure with features that shift between human and bestial, wearing armor of bone and dark metal, and radiating the predatory charisma of something that has been the apex hunter since before civilization existed. He hunts with honor — which is not the same thing as mercy. The Wild Hunt gives prey a chance to run, to fight, to prove themselves worthy. Those who show courage may earn respect. Those who show cowardice are torn apart. Harry has dealt with the Erlking multiple times, once even trapping him in a summoning circle to prevent him from leading the Hunt at a catastrophic moment. The Erlking took it well, in the way that ancient predators take things well — he remembered, he respected the audacity, and he's been watching Harry with interest ever since.
Tall, lean figure in hunting leathers of dark green and black. Antlered helm. Eyes that glow amber in darkness. Moves like a predator — every step deliberate, every glance an assessment. Handsome in a sharp, dangerous, wild way.
