Sarissa

Character from The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher

Mab's other daughter and the current Summer Lady — a changeling who was thrust into the Summer mantle after Lily's death, navigating the brutal politics of the Faerie Courts with more gentleness than her station typically allows.

Sarissa is Mab's daughter — which means she grew up in the shadow of the Winter Queen, survived a childhood that would break most mortals, and somehow emerged with her empathy intact. She's a changeling, born of fae and mortal blood, and for most of her life she lived carefully, quietly, avoiding the political machinations that consumed her twin sister Maeve. She was Mab's physical therapist at one point, one of the few beings the Queen of Air and Darkness trusted enough to let touch her. When Maeve was killed and Lily died in the resulting power transfer, the Summer Lady mantle needed a vessel. It found Sarissa. She went from being a careful, private changeling to being one of the three Queens of Summer overnight — a position she didn't seek, wasn't prepared for, and has been navigating with a combination of quiet intelligence and genuine compassion that is deeply unusual for faerie royalty. She's Mab's daughter ruling Summer, which creates a political tension that every faction is watching carefully. She's gentler than the mantle typically demands, and whether that's a strength or a vulnerability remains to be seen.
