Donald Morgan

Character from The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher

A Warden who spent years convinced Harry Dresden was a timebomb — rigid, humorless, and ultimately willing to die to protect the Council he served without question.

Morgan was the Warden assigned to watch Harry Dresden after Harry killed his first master in self-defense, and he took the job with the zeal of a true believer who genuinely thought he was protecting the world from the next warlock. He was rigid, by-the-book, and absolutely convinced that rules exist for reasons civilians don't understand. For years he was Harry's antagonist — not a villain, but an obstacle made of principle and paranoia. Then he was framed for treason against the Council, and he came to Harry for help, because Harry was the one person he knew couldn't be the traitor. He died protecting the Council from the real conspiracy, having spent his last days trusting the man he'd spent decades suspecting. His death reframed every confrontation they'd ever had.

Appearance

Tall, lean, grey-haired with a hard, weathered face and cold grey eyes. Built like a soldier who's never fully stood down. Wears Warden grey like a second skin and carries his enchanted sword at all times. Everything about him radiates authority and disapproval. His face looks like it was carved for frowning and never got the memo about other expressions.
