Margaret Angelica Dresden

Character from The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher

Harry and Susan's daughter — a brave little girl rescued from the Red Court's sacrificial altar, now living safely with the Carpenter family under the protection of angels and a very large dog.

Maggie Dresden is the daughter Harry didn't know he had until the Red Court took her to use as the lynchpin of a bloodline curse aimed at destroying him. She was born in secret, raised by Susan and the Fellowship, and spent her earliest years being moved from safe house to safe house across Central America — a childhood defined by running and hiding from monsters that wanted to use her blood to kill her father. Harry saved her. Susan died doing it. And then Harry, knowing that his life was too dangerous for a child, made the hardest decision of his life: he placed Maggie with the Carpenters, where she would be protected by Michael's faith, Charity's ferocity, and the literal angels that guard the Carpenter household. She's a quiet, resilient kid who has been through more trauma than most adults, and she's slowly learning what a normal life looks like. She has Mouse — or rather, one of Mouse's puppies — as her constant companion and guardian. She's starting to open up, starting to trust, and Harry visits when he can, trying to be the father he never had himself.

Appearance

Small, dark-haired girl with her mother's Latin complexion and her father's stubborn jaw. Looks like any other kid except for the enormous grey dog that follows her everywhere and the occasional flicker of something in her eyes.

Also known as: Maggie, Margaret, Maggie Dresden, Margaret Angelica Dresden
