Character from The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher
Harry's Faerie Godmother and Winter's second-most-powerful noble — an ancient sidhe who bargained with his mother, raised him through proxies, and expresses love by trying to turn him into a hound.
The Leanansidhe — Lea — is Harry's Faerie Godmother, a title that sounds whimsical and is actually terrifying. She bargained with Harry's mother Margaret for guardianship of young Harry, and her idea of protection has historically included trying to turn him into one of her hounds, which she considers an upgrade. She is the second most powerful entity in the Winter Court after Mab, and she serves her Queen with absolute loyalty. Her relationship with Harry is genuinely affectionate — by Fae standards, which means she would happily reshape him into something more useful while honestly believing she was helping. She was temporarily infected by Nemesis through one of the Swords of the Cross and had to be frozen in Arctis Tor until she was cleansed. She gave Harry's mother significant magical knowledge, which means the entire Dresden bloodline owes her debts she has not finished collecting.
Tall, inhumanly beautiful, with flowing red-gold hair and eyes of deep, liquid green. Dressed in gowns of living shadow and moonlight that shift with her moods. Her beauty is more alive than Mab's — warmer on the surface, which makes the predator underneath more shocking. Carries herself like a queen in her own right, which she essentially is. Her smile promises wonderful, terrible things in equal measure.
