Ebenezar McCoy is the lie the White Council tells itself: that the Laws of Magic are absolute. Stocky, weathered, looks like a farmer because he is one — overalls, work boots, calloused hands that have tended livestock and killed with equal competence. Short white hair, lined face, blue eyes sharp as a razor beneath bushy eyebrows. Carries himself with the deceptive casualness of someone who could level a city block and chooses to fix fences instead. The Blackstaff itself — a length of dark, twisted wood — seems to drink light when he holds it. His hands sometimes show dark veins when he's used the Staff recently.
