The Veliant Compound

Location from The Bridge Kingdom by Danielle L. Jensen

Where Silas raised his weapons — an isolated training facility where twelve girls learned to fight, spy, seduce, and kill, believing they were serving Maridrina when they were serving their father's ambition.

The Veliant Compound is where Silas raised his twelve daughters as expendable weapons against Ithicana. The training was comprehensive — combat, languages, seduction, poisons, intelligence analysis, covert operations — and the propaganda was constant: Ithicana is the enemy, the bridge's wealth belongs to Maridrina's people, and the girls' purpose is to serve their kingdom by destroying its rival. The compound is a prison disguised as a school. The girls competed against each other for the 'privilege' of being selected for the infiltration mission, not understanding that selection meant being sent to marry a man they'd been trained to destroy. Lara won the competition, which means she was the best weapon in the arsenal. Whether that's something to be proud of is the question the entire series asks.

Appearance

An isolated, walled compound separate from the Maridrinian court — designed for training rather than comfort. Sparring grounds, intelligence briefing rooms, and spartan living quarters. The girls trained here from childhood with limited contact with the outside world, which was the point: isolation makes conditioning easier.
