Ithicana's capital island — the administrative and defensive heart of the bridge kingdom, where the king rules and the bridge's secrets are kept.
Midwatch is where Ithicana governs — the island that houses the king's residence, the military command, and the administrative apparatus that manages the bridge's trade operations. It's centrally located in the island chain, which gives it both strategic advantage (defensible from both continental approaches) and symbolic significance (the heart of the bridge). For Lara, Midwatch is where her mission plays out — the place she's supposed to be mapping for her father while falling in love with the king she's supposed to betray. Every dinner, every conversation, every night spent in the royal residence is simultaneously genuine and intelligence-gathering.
One of the larger islands in Ithicana's chain — built into the rocky terrain with fortifications, a royal residence, and the infrastructure needed to govern a trade-based kingdom. Harbor facilities for trade ships, military installations for bridge defense, and the government buildings where Ithicana's small but effective bureaucracy operates. The settlement is partly hidden by the island's jungle vegetation and cliff faces.
