A secret underground laboratory beneath Godolkin University where students are experimented on — the school-to-lab pipeline that proves Vought's cruelty extends even to the Supes it claims to educate.
The Woods is Godolkin's dirty secret — an underground research facility where students who 'wash out' or are deemed expendable are taken for Compound V experimentation. The gap between the campus above (sunny, collegiate, aspirational) and the lab below (sterile, clinical, monstrous) is the show's most literal representation of Vought's two faces. Sam Riordan was imprisoned here for years. Dean Shetty oversaw the operation. Cate Dunlap was used to keep students from remembering what they saw. The discovery of The Woods is the inciting incident of Gen V.
A subterranean lab accessible through hidden passages beneath Godolkin's campus. Sterile white corridors, containment cells with observation windows, medical equipment, and restraint systems. It looks like Sage Grove's younger, more sophisticated sibling.
