Character from The Boys by Eric Kripke
A shapeshifting Supe used by Vought for espionage and seduction — killed by Homelander for the unforgivable sin of seeing him at his most vulnerable.
Doppelganger exists as a tool — Vought's living deepfake, deployed to seduce targets, gather intelligence, and replace people as needed. His shapeshifting isn't just physical; he adopts mannerisms and speech patterns convincingly enough to fool intimates. His death scene is one of the show's most revealing: Homelander had Doppelganger shift into Madelyn Stillwell for comfort, then into Homelander himself. When Doppelganger-as-Homelander tried to tell the real Homelander what he wanted to hear, Homelander snapped his neck — unable to tolerate even a copy of himself offering the love he craves.
Has no fixed appearance — shifts into perfect copies of anyone. In his default form, an unremarkable man who could disappear into any crowd. His transformations are seamless and include voice, mannerisms, and body type.
