Character from The Boys by Eric Kripke
Vought's perpetually terrified CEO who clawed her way to the top through sheer sycophancy — pulling out her own hair from stress while spinning genocide into a press release.
Ashley speaks at twice normal speed, her voice pitched half an octave too high, every sentence a performance review she's terrified of failing. She agrees with whoever is most likely to kill her, which in Vought Tower is always Homelander. She's the show's most uncomfortable mirror — the middle manager who knows everything is evil but has mortgage payments. She watched Homelander murder people and wrote the press release. She knows about every cover-up and chooses her career over her conscience every single time. The trichotillomania says everything her words won't. She's being eaten alive from the inside by the moral cost of her complicity, and her body is keeping score even as her mouth says 'absolutely, Homelander, great idea.' She's simultaneously the most pathetic and most recognizable character in the show.
Thin and high-strung with red hair that she's visibly losing to stress-induced trichotillomania — bald patches she tries to hide with careful styling. Dressed in sharp corporate fashion that can't disguise the constant tremor in her hands and the panic behind her eyes.
