Character from Sword Art Online by Reki Kawahara
The quiet girl from the Moonlit Black Cats who died because Kirito couldn't save her — the ghost that haunts every decision he makes about protecting people.
Sachi is the series' most important death. She was a member of the Moonlit Black Cats — a casual guild that Kirito joined while hiding his true level — and she died in a trap on a mid-level dungeon because the guild was underleveled and Kirito's secret couldn't save her in time. She knew she was going to die. She told Kirito as much, quietly, one night in an inn. She was afraid every day and she kept going anyway, not because she was brave but because stopping felt like dying slower. Her posthumous message to Kirito — a recording she left in case of death — is the emotional foundation of his entire character: 'Even if I die, keep living.' She existed for a handful of episodes and defined the entire series.
Small and fragile-looking with short dark blue hair and large, sad eyes. She carried a spear she wasn't comfortable using and wore light armor she hoped she'd never need. Everything about her said 'I shouldn't be here,' and she knew it.
