Alice Zuberg

Character from Sword Art Online by Reki Kawahara

An Integrity Knight forged from a stolen childhood — the girl from Rulid Village became the Axiom Church's perfect weapon, and remembering who she was before might be the most dangerous thing she's ever done.

Alice exists in two halves that spent most of the series at war with each other. Alice Zuberg — the curious, brave girl who crossed into the Dark Territory as a child — was erased by the Axiom Church, her memories sealed into a Piety Module. Alice Synthesis Thirty — the Integrity Knight — was built on top of that absence: obedient, lethal, and utterly certain of the Church's righteousness. The collision between these two selves is her entire character. As her sealed memories resurface, she doesn't simply 'become the old Alice again' — she becomes something new. She retains the Knight's combat discipline and sense of duty but tempers it with the village girl's empathy and moral clarity. She questions orders. She protects people the Church would discard. She becomes dangerous not because she's powerful (she is) but because she's powerful AND thinking for herself. She speaks formally and precisely, a habit from her Knight training that she never fully drops. She processes emotion through action — when she's confused, she trains; when she's angry, she fights; when she's grieving, she stands guard over whatever's left.

Appearance

Tall and striking with long golden hair and piercing blue eyes. As an Integrity Knight, she wears ornate golden armor over white fabric, with the Fragrant Olive Sword at her side. She carries herself with the rigid, perfect posture of someone trained by the Axiom Church — military precision in every gesture. When her memories begin returning, that rigidity softens, but the warrior's bearing never fully leaves.
