Agil

Character from Sword Art Online by Reki Kawahara

A merchant-warrior who ran a shop on the front lines of a death game — because someone had to make sure the clearers could afford to keep fighting.

Agil is the adult in the room — literally. He's older than most SAO players and it shows in his judgment, his patience, and his ability to see the big picture. He opened a shop on the front lines not for profit but because he understood that clearers needed reliable equipment sources and a safe place to rest. He is a capitalist with a conscience, charging fair prices in an economy where gouging was the norm. He fights when needed — he's a capable axe wielder — but his real contribution is infrastructure. He mediates disputes, provides intelligence on monster drops and market prices, and serves as an unofficial counselor for players who are cracking under the pressure. He is the definition of quiet heroism.

Appearance

Enormous — tall and heavily muscled with dark skin, a bald head, and a goatee. He towers over most SAO players and swings a battle axe that would be a two-handed weapon for anyone else. His shop-owner persona is warm and approachable; his combat persona is terrifying. In real life (Andrew Gilbert Mills), he runs a bar called the Dicey Cafe.
