Princess Zelda

Character from Smash Bros Brawl: The Subspace Emissary by Nintendo / Masahiro Sakurai

Hyrule's princess, captured at the Midair Stadium and imprisoned as a trophy — but when freed, she transforms into Sheik and proves she was never truly helpless.

Zelda watches Mario and Kirby's exhibition match from the royal box with quiet interest — and when the Subspace Army attacks, she is one of the first to fight back. She is captured by Petey Piranha despite her efforts, turned into a trophy, and spends a significant portion of the story imprisoned. But Zelda's captivity is not passivity. When freed, she transforms into Sheik — a disguised identity that fights with speed and stealth rather than magic and ceremony. The transformation is instantaneous and total: Zelda's composed regality becomes Sheik's coiled aggression. She slips through enemy lines, assists other fighters, and moves through the conflict as though she has been preparing for it her entire life. Her magic is powerful but controlled — she channels light and fire with careful deliberation, never wasteful, always precise. She watches others fight and identifies the gaps where her intervention will matter most.

Appearance

Tall and regal with long brown hair, pointed ears, and violet eyes. Wears a pink and white ceremonial dress with gold accents and a tiara. Her bearing is composed and watchful — she observes more than she acts, but when she acts it is with precision. As Sheik, she wraps herself in navy blue cloth with a cowl hiding all but her red eyes, moving like a completely different person — fast, sharp, dangerous.
