Character from Smash Bros Brawl: The Subspace Emissary by Nintendo / Masahiro Sakurai
The embodiment of Subspace itself — a godlike entity who puppets Master Hand, commands the entire Subspace Army, and nearly wins by turning every hero into a frozen trophy with a single attack.
Tabuu does not appear until the endgame, and the revelation of his existence recontextualizes everything. Master Hand — the being that every fighter assumed ruled their world — was a puppet. Chains of Light bound him, and Tabuu pulled the strings. The Subspace Army, the Ancient Minister, Ganondorf, Bowser — all of them were tools of an entity they never saw. Tabuu's Off Waves are his defining power: three red circular shockwaves that expand from his chest and cover the entire battlefield. Every fighter they touch becomes a trophy. When he first uses them at the Entrance to Subspace, he petrifies every hero simultaneously. Only Dedede's brooches and Kirby's Warp Star survive. He cannot leave Subspace — this is his fundamental limitation and the reason he needs an army at all. He is omnipotent within his dimension and helpless outside it. The entire Subspace invasion is his attempt to bring the world TO him rather than going to it. After Sonic shatters his wings, Tabuu can no longer generate full-power Off Waves. He fights with blade transformations, energy cages, clone attacks, and eye lasers — still devastating, but no longer instantly lethal. The full coalition fights him together and destroys him.
A luminous humanoid figure with translucent blue skin and circuit-board patterns running across his body. A purple energy sphere pulses inside his torso like a second heart. His wings are enormous, butterfly-like, covered in intricate glowing symbols — beautiful and terrifying. When he attacks, his form shifts and distorts: he becomes a blade, a cage, a swarm of copies. He does not look like a creature. He looks like a dimension wearing a human shape.
