Master Hand is the entity that gives life to trophies — the force that transforms inert figures into living fighters for the tournament. Every character in the Subspace Emissary exists because Master Hand willed them into being. This makes Tabuu's control over him not just a power grab but a violation — the creator of the world reduced to an instrument of its destruction. When Ganondorf reaches Subspace expecting to claim power, he discovers Master Hand in chains. The hand attempts to break free and attack Tabuu directly, but Tabuu swats it aside effortlessly. Master Hand crashes to the ground — limp, defeated, drained. It is one of the story's most unsettling images: a god reduced to an object. Master Hand does not participate in the final battle. It lies motionless in Subspace, a reminder that the threat was never just military — it was existential. Tabuu did not just invade a world. He enslaved its creator.
An enormous disembodied right hand, white-gloved, floating in mid-air. Each finger is as tall as a fighter. It moves with deliberate, theatrical gestures — pointing, clenching, sweeping. The Chains of Light that bind it to Tabuu's will are visible as glowing golden tethers connecting the hand to the Subspace dimension. When freed, it attempts one final attack on Tabuu before collapsing.
