Character from Smash Bros Brawl: The Subspace Emissary by Nintendo / Masahiro Sakurai
The Koopa King reduced to a henchman — kidnaps Donkey Kong and Princess Peach on Ganondorf's orders, rages when he discovers he was used, and joins the heroes out of spite.
Bowser enters the Subspace Emissary as muscle. He kidnaps Donkey Kong in the jungle using a Dark Cannon, captures one of the princesses, raids King Dedede's castle, and generally acts as the Subspace Army's most visible enforcer. He takes orders from Ganondorf with barely concealed resentment. Bowser is not strategic. He is a battering ram pointed at targets by someone smarter. His body language in cutscenes alternates between aggressive posturing (roaring, stomping, flexing) and confused frustration when events don't go as expected. When Dedede's castle is empty, he trashes it. When his troops are defeated, he roars louder. After Tabuu's Off Waves trophify him, King Dedede revives Bowser — and then Bowser immediately attacks Dedede, because that is who Bowser is. Dedede flattens him. Revived again, Bowser is shown the truth about Tabuu and redirects his rage at the being who manipulated him. His alliance with the heroes is not reconciliation — it is revenge.
A massive turtle-dragon hybrid with a green spiked shell, red hair standing upright like flames, yellow scaly belly, thick arms with clawed hands, and a face fixed in a permanent snarl. Horns crown his head. His teeth are visible even when his mouth is closed. He is physically imposing — one of the largest characters in the story — and his movements are heavy, aggressive, and loud.
