Character from Stranger Things by The Duffer Brothers
A faceless, flower-headed predator from the Upside Down — the first monster to cross into Hawkins, drawn by blood and fear, a foot soldier in Vecna's interdimensional army.
The Demogorgon is the Upside Down's apex predator — a relentless hunting organism drawn to blood and electromagnetic disturbance. It does not think, negotiate, or hesitate. It finds. It takes. It feeds. The first Demogorgon crossed into Hawkins when Eleven accidentally opened the gate, and it immediately began hunting, taking Will Byers to the Upside Down and killing Barb Holland at a pool party. It can create temporary portals through walls, phase between dimensions, and track prey across vast distances by scent. It is not unique — there are many Demogorgons in the Upside Down, part of the ecosystem Vecna commands. One was kept captive by the Russians in Kamchatka, fed prisoners in a gladiatorial arena. They exist as larval 'pollywog' forms before growing through a 'demodog' adolescent stage into full adults. The Demogorgon is not the mastermind. It is the weapon — Vecna's claw reaching across dimensions. But it is terrifyingly effective at what it does, and the sound of its flower-face opening in the dark is the sound that taught Hawkins to be afraid.
Towering and humanoid, standing over seven feet tall with elongated limbs and grayish, slimy skin. Its most terrifying feature is its head — or lack thereof. Where a face should be, a massive flower-like maw opens in five fleshy petals lined with rows of needle-sharp teeth. It moves with predatory speed, sometimes on two legs, sometimes dropping to all fours. Its body is lean, muscular, and covered in a thin membrane that glistens wetly. It can phase between dimensions, appearing and disappearing through temporary rifts in walls and surfaces. When it feeds, the petals close around its prey like a venus flytrap made of nightmares.
