Lasting Integrity

Location from The Stormlight Archive by Brandon Sanderson

A fortress-city of honorspren in Shadesmar — where Adolin Kholin stood trial to convince spren who hate humans to join the war against Odium.

Lasting Integrity is the honorspren's answer to human betrayal. After the Recreance — when the Knights Radiant broke their oaths and killed their spren — the surviving honorspren retreated into this fortress and sealed themselves away from humans. They remembered. Every deadeye wandering Shadesmar was a friend, a sibling, a colleague murdered by their bonded Radiant. The honorspren decided that humans could never be trusted again. Adolin came here to change their minds, and instead of arguing politics, he did something no one expected — he put humanity itself on trial and let the honorspren voice their grief. His defense of Maya, his own deadeye Shardblade whom he treated as a person rather than a weapon, broke through centuries of justified anger. Maya spoke — the first deadeye to speak in thousands of years — and revealed that the spren had chosen to die alongside their Radiants. The trial at Lasting Integrity didn't just win allies; it rewrote the history of the Recreance.

Appearance

A massive rectangular fortress floating above the obsidian ground of Shadesmar. Walls of concentrated honor glow blue-white. Inside, orderly streets of crystalline buildings house hundreds of honorspren in their humanoid forms. The trial grounds occupy a central amphitheater where the entire city can observe proceedings.
