A southern Rosharan nation that became the primary theater of the Singer war — where the coalition's armies clash with Odium's forces in grinding conventional warfare.
Emul became the front line. While the war against Odium plays out in Shadesmar, in Urithiru's corridors, and in the political negotiations between nations, the actual fighting — soldiers against soldiers, Fused against Radiants — happens primarily in Emul. The southern nation's territory became contested ground after the Everstorm, with both sides pouring resources into a grinding war of position and attrition. The coalition's military operations in Emul are commanded by Dalinar's generals, with Windrunner squads providing air support and reconnaissance. The Singer forces field warform troops supported by Fused commanders who have thousands of years of tactical experience. The fighting is brutal, conventional, and strategically crucial — whoever holds Emul controls the southern approach to half of Roshar. For the soldiers on the ground, the cosmic stakes matter less than the next hilltop and whether the supply wagons arrive on time.
Arid scrubland and rocky terrain in southern Roshar. Military encampments stretch across the landscape — coalition forces with blue Kholin banners and Azish standards on one side, Singer armies with warform troops and Fused overseers on the other. Smoke rises from contested villages. Supply lines snake between fortified positions.
