Before the Shards, before Honor and Cultivation and Odium, there was Adonalsium — and the Dawnshards were the tools used to shatter it. Four Commands, each representing a fundamental aspect of creation: CHANGE is one, the others remain unknown. They are power at the foundational level — not magic wielded by gods, but the authority that makes gods possible. Rysn bonded with a Dawnshard on Aimia, and it has made her simultaneously more important and more constrained than almost anyone alive. A Dawnshard holder cannot bond a spren or hold a Shard — the powers would conflict catastrophically. She carries the potential to reshape reality and must never, ever use it carelessly.
Not a physical object but a concept that inhabits a host. The Dawnshard manifests as a prismatic warmth in the holder's mind, a sense of overwhelming potential. When activated, reality warps visibly around the holder. Ancient murals depict Dawnshards as four-pointed radiating patterns of light.
